Half of what's here is public domain poetry set to music. The other half is original songs. Look around the room; everything in it plays, reads, or downloads.
Most of the poem songs exist in more than one music genre, and that's been much of the fun of this project. The same poem can sprout wings or claws depending on how it's performed.

For anyone curious, the songs were made with Suno and FL Studio. The poem narrations, meditations and jokes were voiced with ElevenLabs. The listening visuals — the clouds, the ocean, the dunes — run on WebGL 2.
These are the poems I have turned into songs: forty-six of them, in five movements. On the tour, each poem is read aloud first, and then you hear the song it became. The words stay on screen so you can read along.
They follow a life, one movement at a time: waking up to things, falling in love, seeing what you’d rather not see, paying a price, and dying. Dickinson wrote about all of that, so she turns up in every movement. Each movement is named after a line from one of its poems.

Switches live, without restarting the flight, and is kept on this device until set back to Automatic. Ctrl+Shift+F opens this panel with the FPS readout; GPU time per frame shows where the browser can time the GPU. Automatic frame rate aims for 60 on every visit, and settles on a steady 30 for the visit where 60 keeps missing frames, rather than a rate that wobbles between them; 60 or 30 chosen here is kept on this device.
Moonlight uses the Dunes Moon, radial glow and stars. Its sky stays nocturnal as track Tone changes. Entering Moonlight or a Night preset starts a twenty-second Moonrise.
Energy sets motion targets; Tone changes only the light. Detail edits override that field; changing Energy clears manual overrides. The next different musical recording applies its own available scores. Changes blend while running.

Tune the clouds
Moon, star and Milky Way settings for Blue Hour and Moonlit Night. Moon maximum is calibrated to this view; flight settings stay independent.
Energy sets how the bird flies: calm glides among the clouds to steep banks, dives, wingovers and rolls. Manual edits last until Energy changes. Tone and palette leave them alone.

Tune the dunes
Ctrl+Shift+F shows or hides this panel and the status line (FPS · renderer · GPU time · graphics device).
Tone is the time of day: night, blue dusk, rose dusk, blazing sunset, golden hour. Each preset loads its own Vibrance; adjust afterward to taste.
Moon rises over twenty seconds when Moonlit Night is selected, on the same bearing its light comes from. The slider ceiling is calibrated when Tune opens for roughly one source-disc pixel per screen pixel at the cruise camera angle; flight changes its apparent size.
Below 0.40×, subpixel stars become finer and fainter. Lower elevation brings stars toward the horizon; dunes still hide stars behind them.
Camera
An eagle's flight: soaring pace at the top of each swoop, stoop pace on the low run after a dive. Energy sets all of it (14–92 m/s, lowest pass 24→3 m, highest soar 46→225 m) and resets camera tuning; Tone does not. Heights are metres above the crest line ahead; changes blend smoothly.
A/B: switch Renderer and watch GPU time (the display caps FPS, so on a fast GPU both show the same FPS). WebGL 2's canvas resolve runs after its timer stops, a small cost Compare renderers includes. Automatic: on the first visit both renderers are timed on the same fixed frame, alternating, before the scene appears; the faster one is kept (WebGL 2 unless WebGPU is at least 5% faster) and re-checked after 30 days or a browser update. A WebGPU failure returns to WebGL 2. A manual choice is kept on this device until set back to Automatic.
